Ger and Magda May
Ger and Magda May (both 1953)
Ger, Electronic Engineer and by education, is a Project Manager and consultant in integrated corporate communication
networks and applications through his own company. Ger his interest in aero planes exists from his early youth, without
ever having the urge to make it his profession. He build all sorts of flying models, eventually growing to an intense RC
modeling hobby and to the start of building his own experimental aircraft, a BX-2 CHERRY through the NVAV. Private
developments kept the progress in the construction of this aircraft at a very low pace so after getting his PLL in
1992 Ger and Magda May bought their GARDAN GY80-180 in October 1996. In April 1998 Ger joined the Edambusters.
Magda, married to Ger in 1974, is a now teacher on a matrimonial school in, as it is called in the Netherlands,
groups 3 and 4, the groups where children of 6 and 7 years of age enter unable to read, write or calculate and proceed
to group 5 after having learned all the basics. Magda's big hobbies are the garden and flying with Ger in the GARDAN,
one letter difference, a different world. Together with the GARDAN on summer holidays with a tent and foldable bikes,
as if we were in our twenties with the motorbike for which Magda does hold a license, no problem to drive a 1100 BMW.
Magda would love to get her PPL (she did take lessons in France, can start, fly and land the machine) but simply lacks
the time, meanwhile enjoying every Edambuster flight since 1999
